Ham and Legs Show #020

So,  when last we heard from Ham and Legs there was quite a stir.  So, Legs addressed the issue and made a sincere apology to the one person who was affected the most and they dedicated the show to that person.  It was quite moving actually.

Then they moved onto Healthcare, the town hall "dissenters".....or so they call themselves.  Death threats, Palin, etc.  Limbaugh and his dangerous rhetoric, Beck losing his sponsors - Yeah!  A little Supreme talk....congratulations Associate Justice Sotomayor.

And a short John Hughes tip of the hat.  He shall be missed.  Hope you enjoy...oh, we have swag for sale at Cafe Press...all the cool kids will have a shirt or hat or bag or mug or will collect them all.  Don't be left out!

And, please post comments if you have something to say.  You can do it anonymously too!

Hope you enjoy the show!

    RE: Healthcare

I'm not well versed on all the proposals being bounced around but something needs to be done.

Does anyone have the perfect solution that will satisfy everyone? No. With something as complicated as health care, I'm not sure if there will ever be total agreement.

But, I applaud the Democrats for giving this a try. Again. At least they care. I can't say the same for Republicans and especially the conservative pundits who have no solution. My father, a die-hard Republican, instilled in me, if you don't have a solution, then you may very well be part of the problem. As much as I wish my dad was still around, I'm glad that he's not here to witness the rhetoric, lies, and grandstanding his beloved party is participating.

More to the point, I think there are some health care principles that many moderate Republicans and Democrats can all agree on; for example, tort reform (though it is mentioned that tort reform is a red herring. The accusation is that malpractice attorneys are responsible for the increased insurance rates. That would be true if they were in charge of setting the premiums, but they aren't, the insurance corporations are) and allowing Americans to purchase insurance out-of-state to boost competition. Personally, I would prefer a simple, single-payer system, but politically I don't think that is going to happen, especially in the short term, so we have to be realistic.

What I find extremely aggravating are the Republicans who claim to support reform, then screech like little girls (yes, I'm well aware of my sexist remark...you know who to send your emails to) when they don't get their own way. Well, they had eight years to reform healthcare, and did nothing while insurance premiums rose 200%, crippling the American taxpayer. They had their chance, and they did nothing. So I'm finding it difficult that they should be treated with any amount of credibility. They had no problems dishing out $3 trillion to Iraqis to help them build a nation, yet they resent the idea of helping their fellow Americans to have a better quality of healthcare at more affordable prices.

I would really like to hear other ideas, other possible solutions coming from the Republican side. But they seem to be too tied up in accusations, liable, and play-ground tactics.

Keep in mind that at any company meeting with the CEO asks for ideas and only one side of the table is offering any, while the other is pounding the table, shouting slurs, and claiming that the other side is wanting to changes the locks on the executive washroom....it doesn't take too long before the CEO stops asking those on that one side questions, and starts to suggest that those on that one side to not attend meetings due to their childlike behavior and non-leadership qualities.

C'mon, lets be honest... the right wing isn't being honest. When Sarah Palin came up with that "death panel" crap, it wasn't an honest misunderstanding. She knew exactly what the section of the bill meant, and lied and said something else to stampede the sheep.

A good portion of our population has been force fed fear so long, that it is all they respond to. Facts be damned, we all know that those with the most guns "win".

I laughed out loud when Jody said that Jessie Jackson meant well and Sean said so do four year olds. Very funny Sean. Jody I have to agree with you that your Ham character on your shirts is pretty good. The first one just looked like a character from the Simpsons, which is great but I like the ham. Jody, send my love to your cousin Jennifer for me. Very emotionally opinionated that Jennifer. Good show guys, Kenny

Will send Jen your love Kenny. It appears it's 3 to 2 in favor of the actual Ham.  I'm getting some shirts for myself with both to photograph and put on the site to see what people like when they see it in clothing form.  Off to comment on your show 21 comment.
