Sean "Legs" Barton

Master Piscesian Sean Edward Barton was born Sean Eby on March 4th, 1967 in Oregon City, Oregon. His parents, Linda (mom) and Jack Eby  (bio-dad), called him Boy in memory of the handicapped neighbor kid who constantly ran through the yard screaming, "Frogs!”  Sean’s parents were Methodist, and at three weeks old, Sean was presented at his first evening bible study which Stilton cheese and a brisk, but subtle white Zinfandel was served. He spent his childhood distinguishing the vast delicacies of Pacific Northwest cheeses and grape varietals, where he gained a fondness for Merlots, but discovered his lactose intolerance. Jack found this intolerable and divorced his mother.

As a youth, Sean attended Miss Margaret's School of Homeopathic plumbing & Interpretive Dance in Lake Oswego and Madame Wong’s Textile Polytechnic in Portland before enrolling in St Austine’s Boarding and Day School for Bed-wetters. In the early 1970's, Sean played the double bass with a touring toddler jazz band called, what, making a name for him in the convalescent care circuit. It was about this time that Linda got herself remarried to one Lee Barton, single-malt-scotch-drinker-extraordinaire, who then took her and Sean on a four-year tour of Hawaii only to settle later in Mission Viejo, California. Just after his 18th birthday, Sean discovered his gift of written gab. He became an official writer for the Paul Strange Show, and between 1988 and 1991, Sean spent his free time writing comedy sketches for The Frayed Knots.

By 1992 he had taken part in a few moderately successful local cable programs, none of which had resulted in an invitation to join the WGA. Having grown impatient for stardom, Sean chose to take matters into his own hands. He grabbed his girlfriend and moved to Portland, Oregon to make his name in Hollywood. It was years later that Sean realized that he had, in fact, been sold an erroneous map. The writer made a telephone call to Jody Hamilton, producer, friend, and squirrel advocate, to find out if Hollywood would be willing to embrace his kind of talent. She replied, "Only if you hurry."  After getting himself acclimated to The Valley, Sean positioned himself as the "go-to" writer in the Pork chop Players ensemble.  The creator, Jeff Cain, smitten with Sean's writing ability, gave him a chance to write new material for their upcoming show. Following his initial sketches, Sean became a sought-after sketch comedy writer all over the San Fernando Valley.

In 2003, Sean introduced the world to his best-known character, Little Twit, a young girls cynical awareness in the world. There were three sequels to this successful comedic sketch: Cloak of Criticism, I’m Offended, and It's a Good Thing. The incredibly versatile Sean could write characters with surprising speed. His genius was displayed through his comedic take on some well know commercials:  Louisville Slugger, Tushy Bathroom Tissue, and Just Say No. LA LA LAND, a blend of superb comedy/drama television script writing, which many have considered, could possibly earn him his first Emmy nomination in 2010.

After writing over 60 television and feature film scripts combined, Sean still finds the time to put pen to paper and jot down misspelled words and grammatically incorrect sentences. Though Sean is a great success professionally, he is a bigger success in the personal realm.  Just don't tell his wife. Still on his first marriage to Jamie Barton, he considers his best accomplishment his son, Teagan.
